Officiant Sam is committed to ensuring you enjoy your unique and personally designed Wedding Ceremony. We ensure your ceremony will stand out as the highlight of your day, with our informal and friendly approach, all delivered in a professional and timely manner.

Before the Wedding Day

Upon request, we meet with each couple to help answer any questions you may have in regards to your Wedding Day. We cover what to expect, important issues that may arise, wedding ceremony details as well as marriage in general. Officiant Sam will provide personal experience as they help plan with you a memorable and meaningful Wedding Ceremony that is uniquely yours. Finally, upon request, we will oversee the Wedding Rehearsal (usually the night before).

On the Wedding Day

According to plan, Officiant Sam will be present at least one-half hour before the Wedding Ceremony is to begin. This ensures the room and setting are as planned (we’re happy to work along aside your Wedding Coordinator, Photographers, Videographers, DJ's and Live Musicians). We will be dressed as a professional – after all, you’re getting married! And finally, we will stick to your plan – no surprises!

Following your Wedding Day

As the law requires, we’ll mail the original wedding documents to the Georgia probate court where it was issued. Finally, with a note of Thanks, we’ll also remain available if needed to answer any questions relating to your marriage. This may include licensing, or any other questions.

  WEDDING FAQS

If you're getting married in Georgia, you must first apply for a marriage license.
It'll cost you $56.00 to $82.00, and you'll have to use it within 60 days.

Where can I get a marriage license?
You can apply for a marriage license at the probate court. It's typically located at the county courthouse.

Some high population counties (400,000+) have extra satellite courthouses available.

Note: Your application will be processed by the probate court clerk, deputy, or judge.

SAME SEX MARRIAGES
Are same sex marriages legal in Georgia?

Yes.  Same-sex marriages became legal in Georgia on October 10, 2014, following a ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court. The ruling meant that all U.S. states must now recognize same sex marriages. This includes issuing marriage licenses and performing marriage ceremonies. Same-sex marriage was made legal nationwide June 26, 2015.

How can I apply for a Same Sex Marriage License in Georgia?

Same-sex couples can go to their local county probate court and apply for a marriage license just like any other couple. Once a couple has their marriage license, they can then schedule a ceremony with a local officiant.

COST

How much does the marriage license cost?
A Georgia marriage license costs between $56 and $82, depending on the county.

RESIDENCY

How does my residency factor into applying?

If at least one of the people getting married is a resident of Georgia, a marriage license can be issued at a probate court in any county. If neither person is a resident of Georgia, the license must be issued in the county where the ceremony is taking place. Both parties must be present in order to obtain a marriage license.

Are you or your fiancé a Georgia resident?

If either you or your fiancé is a Georgia resident, you may apply for a marriage license at any Georgia probate court.

Are both you and your fiancé nonresidents of Georgia?

If neither you nor your fiancé is a Georgia resident, apply for a marriage license in the county where the marriage ceremony will take place.

USAGE

Where can I use my marriage license?

If you or your fiancé is a Georgia resident, you can marry anywhere in the state.

Otherwise, apply and marry in the county where the ceremony will occur.

APPLICATION
What information do I have to provide on the application?

ATTENDANCE
What if I can't apply in person?
